FAQs

  • What is the Zurreal Healthcard?

The Zurreal Healthcard is a pre-funded debit card that will allow you to take full control of your healthcare expenses. It is valid at any medical service provider with a point-of-sale terminal facility and serves as the ideal tool to safeguard you, and your family, against unplanned medical expenses.

  • Must I belong to a medical aid to have a Zurreal Healthcard?

No. Any person over 18 who needs to save for medical expenses may open a Zurreal Healthcard account and keep it for life.

  • Are there restrictions on what the Zurreal Healthcard can be used for?

The Zurreal Healthcard is not administered by any medical scheme. Zurreal Healthcard can be used at any medical service provider with an electronic point-of-sale terminal (credit/debit card machine).

  • How do I use the Zurreal Healthcard?

Swipe the Zurreal Healthcard at any medical service provider who has a credit/debit card facility. Select the Savings option and provide your unique security PIN number issued with your card.

  • Do you get money back from the medical scheme if you use the Zurreal Healthcard for payment at medical service providers?

Bills are paid by the member with the Zurreal Healthcard. Medical scheme members can submit paper claims to their medical scheme who, in turn, will reimburse this claim against available medical aid benefits. Members can also opt to have the reimbursement paid back into their Zurreal Healthcard.

Funds can be paid out to your Estate Account at the request of your Executor.
